Mackenzie Couch will always put her education first, no matter how many opportunities she gets in Hollywood.
Mackenzie is the rare example of an ultra-successful child Hollywood star, who has appeared on series like “Insecure” and “Fresh off the Boat” on networks like HBO, ABC, and more.
Not only does she consistently shine in the various roles she acquired; she still actively attends school (not just relying on a tutor). She’s the “definition of young Hollywood” in that she prioritizes her education by staying in school full-time while taking giant leaps in her acting and performing career.
Being a child celebrity can be rough: the entertainment industry is enormously competitive and complicated, and this is on top of the basic challenges of just being a kid. Mackenzie has kept great balance as she’s navigated her teenage years. She’s a rising talent on many of TV’s most popular shows on HBO, ABC, and others, with numerous social media followers.
Her mother, Christie, explains,
“We moved to LA when Mackenzie was just 10 years old. She signed with an agency right away. Since then she has danced in music videos for Nia Sioux and has appeared in 2 episodes of Fresh Off The Boat, has also appeared on Modern Family, Our People, and the HBO series, Insecure. She was SAG-eligible at the young age of 12 years old. Mackenzie attends the very prestigious Orange County School Of The Arts full-time in the commercial dance conservatory. Mackenzie and her sisters just appeared on the cover of The Teen Magazine and have another cover coming out in December.”
Mackenzie has carried roles on Modern Family, Fresh Off the Boat, and an early episode of Our People, among many others. She’s danced and modeled for several fashion shows, and is recognized as one of Hollywood’s bright young stars.
Discussing Modern Family and Fresh Off The Boat, Mackenzie explains,
“Filming both of those shows was an amazing experience. Modern Family was such a funny scene that it took awhile to get and Fresh Off The Boat was so good that I was just invited back for another episode.”
Given Mackenzie’s trajectory, she’s prepared to excel in both her education and her career, and is doing both quite beautifully.
