Anubhav had previously stated in a statement, as reported by the news agency PTI, “The story of Bheed takes place during a time when everything for humanity was in danger. The main reason for using black and white for the film’s aesthetics was to emphasise how the social difference during India’s Lockdown and the experiences people had during the 1947 India partition were startlingly comparable. This tale is about people whose lives were abruptly altered and whose colours were erased when the country’s boundary was drawn.”
