The best four groups during the ordinary season in the two gatherings played a three-game cooperative effort for seeding in the First Round. The eight champs of the best-of-5 Qualifying Round cutting edge to the First Round. The losing groups from the Qualifying Round have been gone into Phase 2 of the NHL Draft Lottery.
