The present Doodle remembers Ukraine’s Independence Day, considered one of the most significant Ukranian occasions of the year. On this day in 1991, Ukraine formally declared full self-governance from Soviet principle.
Outlined in the present Doodle is a wreath that features the nation’s national bloom: the sunflower. Development of the sunflower initially started to blast over the rich soil of present-day Ukraine in the mid nineteenth century, due to a limited extent to the bloom’s valuable and adaptable oil.
Today, these brilliant yellow blossoms spread over 20% of Ukraine’s farmable land, which assists with making the nation the biggest exporter of sunflower oil on the planet.
Happy Independence Day, Ukraine!
