FIRST ASTRONAUTS FOR THE ARTEMIS MOON MISSION: NASA FINALIZES SECRETIVE DECISION

NASA is conducting its covert selection process to choose who will be sent to the Moon for the first time in 50 years while the Artemis programme plods toward a follow-up trip.

According to a CNN article, the CIA won’t be ready to announce any names for the project, which will first involve a crewed orbital flight in 2024 and then a Moon landing the following year, until “sometime in the spring.”

The selection process for astronauts is extremely secretive, but the news outlet was able to gain insight into it by speaking with a number of former and present NASA officials. They learned about the names of those who are currently on the agency’s buzz shortlist, including Christina Koch and Jessica Meir, the first women to complete an all-female space walk, Army pilot Anne McClain, and Stephanie Wilson, who is the probable mission chief.

Reisman, the probable mission chief, stated, “I’m going to be tremendously jealous of whoever they pick. This is a great and unique chance.”

We must admit that we’re a little jealous as well, despite the fact that it seems like a really demanding profession with some rather high health risks.
