It is no secret that there has been an exponential rise in demand for lip fillers over the past few years. Following much media speculation about her plumped-up pout, since Kylie Jenner confirmed suspicions that she’d received lip fillers, many clinics reported a substantial rise in enquiries for lip filler treatment. Even today, Jenner’s lips still remain the subject of discussion. Dr. Ahmed is one of the UK’s top cosmetic doctors offering lip fillers. In this interview he reveals everything you need to know before getting Lip Fillers.
What products do you use to inject lips?
Highly depends on patient and what results they want. After a really thorough consultation – we select the best product to suit and achieve the results. We use Juverderm and Teoxane which are best in the market.
How long does the injecting take?
It really varies and depends on the patient. It is not a one size fits all and must be customised to the patient. Lip Filler is a very artistic expression which I would never dream to rush. The usual is around 15 minutes.
Is the procedure painful?
No, just slightly uncomfortable. We always use numbing cream.
What can I expect in the first 24 hours after getting lip fillers?
It is perfectly normal to see slight swelling and bruising. This will always subside in the following days after.
What can I expect 1 week after getting lip fillers?
80% has gone down and this is when you will really see the final results. It is general 2 weeks for the full beautiful result provided to patient.
How long do lip fillers last?
It really depends on the patients metabolism. Those with a higher metabolism will break it down quick. Those with slower will not – however it is usually around 6 months.
How much does it cost?
Around £350 – £400 for most patients.
