Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar’s second day in theatres saw a 34% drop in revenue for the movie starring Ranbir Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor.
In India, Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar, starring Ranbir Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor, had the best opening weekend ever after its March 8 Holi release. But, despite a strong start, the Luv Ranjan movie was unable to maintain the pace and experienced a more than 34% fall in box office receipts on its second day of release.
Trade expert Taran Adarsh shared Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar’s day 2 domestic box office data on Twitter on Friday. He claims that Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar’s total box office receipts in India have reached 26.07 crore nett, with the Shraddha Kapoor movie earning 10.34 crore nett on Thursday after doing a business of 15.73 crore nett on its opening day. He tweeted: “Day 2 continues with Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar in control… A 34.27 percent decline on a working day – after a holiday – was inevitable… Biz (business) should start moving from Friday [evening] onwards, with Saturday and Sunday giving that extra boost… Wednesday ₹15.73 crore, Thursday ₹10.34 crore. Total: ₹26.07 crore India biz.”
Besides Ranbir Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor, Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar also stars Anubhav Singh Bassi, Dimple Kapadia, and Boney Kapoor. Yet, a number of reports of unexpected cameos hit the news. There have been rumours that Kartik Aaryan and Nushratt Bharuccha, Luv Ranjan’s go-to actors, have also appeared in Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar. The director finally talked about the supposed cameos in a recent interview with India Today. Luv Ranjan had said that he was ‘not aware’ of such reports and confirmed that he has not shot with Kartik for Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar.
