A new chip for Wear OS watches is just around the corner

Wear OS watches could at long last get the overhauled chip that they so frantically need (by means of 9to5Google). Qualcomm prodded the chance in a video presented on Twitter, demonstrating its next Snapdragon smartwatch chip is “coming soon.”

After Samsung and Google reported their cooperation on Wear OS 3 the previous summer, Qualcomm said it would carry out another chip in the following year. It seems to be Qualcomm’s faithfully keeping that word, in spite of the fact that we have no clue about when it will send off. (Perhaps Google will involve it in its forthcoming Pixel Watch).

Snapdragon chips power various Wear OS watches. In any case, its latest one, the Wear 4100 series, was just remembered for a modest bunch of watches, including the TicWatch Pro 3, the dreary Fossil Gen 6, and the expensive Montblanc Summit 3. It’s been around a long time since the 4100’s underlying send off, and Wear OS smartwatches are expected for an overhaul (save for the Exynos W920-controlled Samsung Galaxy Watch 4, the first to run Wear OS 3).

Bits of hearsay show that Qualcomm’s impending 5100 and 5100 Plus processors will be based on the Samsung 4-nanometer (nm) process. The more modest structure component could mean better battery duration and productivity in contrast with the Exynos W920’s 5nm cycle and the Apple Watch Series 7 chip’s 7nm cycle. If valid, this would likewise be an immense shift from the 12nm interaction utilized by the Wear 4100 and 4100 Plus.
