The Drishyam 2 movie, which was directed by Abhishek Pathak, debuted on November 18 with a record-breaking Rs 15.38 crore in ticket sales. The movie started shattering records for box office take over time. But on Day 26, December 13, Drishyam 2’s earnings decreased as it only made about Rs 1.50 crore at the box office. So far, domestic ticket sales for the movie have brought in a total of Rs 212.86 crore, per trade reports. On Day 26, Drishyam 2’s Hindi occupancy was 8.36 percent overall.
The emotional thriller Drishyam tells the tale of Vijay Salgaonkar (Ajay), a cable operator whose life revolves around movies and his family, including wife Nandini (Shriya Saran) and daughters Anju and Anu. In the movie, Tabu portrays IG Meera Deshmukh. Ajay portrayed Vijay Salgaonkar in Drishyam, a man who does everything to preserve his family when his daughter unintentionally murders a young boy.
Vijay disposes of the boy’s body, wipes away all signs of the crime, and then goes on a family vacation to Panaji. Making up their alibis, they go to an Ashram, see a movie, and eat at a restaurant. Drishyam is the Hindi version of the popular Malayalam film of the same name, directed by Nishikant Kamat, winner of a National Award.
